The pendulum was donated by the Rotary Club to the Children's Museum in the mid 1970s.
BIG UPDATE! Reports of the pendulum's demise were premature. Rumor has it that the pendulum will be going to another museum. I'll get you more news, when I get more news!
The pendulum was donated by the West Hartford Rotary Club in the 1970's. A 250 pound plum bob hangs from a 45 foot steel cable. If you look at the present museum, the steel tower is holding up the pendulum. At the base is a roughly 15 foot diameter compass star with the Rotary International logo in the middle.
