I'm Hearing Crickets...
I hate complaining, because it is my belief that if there is a problem that you are facing, complaining is a useless exercise. You need to either accept your problem or take action to change it.

Here's my problem. Over the last several weeks, I have asked club members to get involved with the following:
  • The Foundation Brunch on November 5th
  • Sponsorships for Beatlemania
  • The Park Road Parade
  • The Dictionary Project
  • A toy sorting event at The Salvation Army on November 28th
  • Signing up for invocations at our weekly meetings
...and I have heard a lot of crickets.

Granted, some of these events may seem far off. And I know that the Autumn is a very bust season in WH - but so is the summer, the winter and the spring. And several members have had to deal with major family responsibilities and health issues. And our attendance at the weekly meetings has been down. And....here I am complaining.

I promised to not do that.

So I am asking for you to take some action on behalf of the Rotary Club. Start responding. Start signing up. Don't forget to make your contribution to Polio Plus too. Over the next few months, I hope that we will provide a lot of activities out of our usual schedule for you to participate in. Handing out dictionaries to the third graders, the Foundation Brunch, the Halloween Stroll, Beatlemania. and toy sorting, are just a few of these.

Thank you. I know you are all busy and your Rotary responsibilities may have to be put on the back burner at times. That happened with me a few years back, too. But when I did have a chance to return to the Club, I found my good friends were still there and they welcomed me with open arms. They were, and remained, enthusiastic about helping others and doing good in the community and the world. They reminded me: "When I do good, I feel good."

Yours in service,
