Fundraising:
 
Each event had its best year in total money raised.  We raised over $80,000.00 less expenses of $30,000.  We netted over $50,000.00. 
  • Beatlemania:  We had to pivot this year with the retirement of Tony Rodriquez.  Thank you to Bennett who came up with a great new idea.  In the first year we were profitable: Income $15,345 -Expenses $14,740 --Net $605
  • The 11th Annual Vines of March was held on March 4th at the WH Town Hall.  Thank you to my co-chair Rick Liftig and sponsorship chair.  Vines really showed that many hands do make light work. We had the most Rotarians for set up and clean up.  We had over 220 tickets sold.  We grossed over $54,302 which is truly remarkable.  Our expenses were $13,423.00.  We NET $40,879.00 in one night .  Please save the date as we will be back at the Town Hall on March 2, 2024. 
  • Celebrate WH was held the weekend of June 10th  and 11th.  Thank you to the co-chairs of Bennett and Fernando.  We had numerous Rotarians who worked the booth, friends and coworkers of club members and even Rotarians from other clubs made the event so successful.  We sold $10,899 of hot dogs and hamburgers.  Net a little over $6,000.00.
Giving:
  • Foundation: Our foundation goal was $11,000.00.  We raised $14,806.84 with checks still coming in.  Thank you to all that contributed. 
  • We participated in the Annual Rotary Club/Liberty Bank Thanksgiving Turkey Drive.  Thank you to Fernando Vidal for coordinating again this year.  We raised $9,779.25 a club best combined with the matching funds from Liberty Bank.  This was a 65% increase up from last year’s donation of $5,922.66.  The total donation to The Town That Cares' to provide WH families with food during the holiday season. 
  • The 9th annual Children’s Reading Partner Virtual Holiday Book Drive.  Thank you to Bennett for coordinating for the past 7 years.  The club kicked off the event with a $1,000.00 donation.  The drive was virtual again this past year and we help raised $3,500.00. 
  • One of the highlights of the past year was our 3rd Annual District Grant on April 18th.  We purchased $12,954.80 of food from Costco that went directly to West Hartford residents.  This was 73% more food this year donation of $7,498.14.  We received $3,000.00 matching funds from the district.  The police escort was so special.  We caravan of food to the Town Hall was just incredible.  The club worked in collaboration with Rotaract members, family and friends of the club.  We had amazing publicity thanks to WEHA.com and press release. 
The club is in fabulous hands can't wait to see the continued success of the club next year. Thank you Rick for saying YES!
