$13,000 Buys a Lot of Tuna!

On Tuesday, March 18th, The Rotary Caravan Delivered to the Town's Food Pantry

We brought so much food to West Hartford Town Hall for the Food Pantry\Town That Cares Program, that Nancy Stockman (Food Pantry Coordinator) had to find extra space! Room 139 of Town Hall is now filled to the rafters with tuna and Room 134 is now filled to the rafters with Mac and Cheese, Green Beans, Chicken and Almond Milk.

And what a caravan it was! Thirteen vehicles were stuffed with food and received a police escort from the West Hartford Town Line to Town Hall. While Officer Pete Kisela led us (in his classic Ford Interceptor), a team of three other police vehicles leapfrogged ahead, blocking intersections to allow the caravan to proceed to Town Hall. It was an incredible ballet to witness. We had several Rotaractors from the University of Hartford and our stalwart crew from the West Hartford Rotary Club.

THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT. Helping others and having a good time doing it. Thank you Rotarians for a great day!
