Our speakers today were Jane Banks and Jade Stoltz from South Park Inn Shelter
Our speakers are always engaging, but today's presentation really hit home. Homelessness is a terrible problem in our country. This is the 40th anniversary of South Park Inn. Jane has been in Executive Director for the last four. She is the shelter's second executive in that time. Jane left a prominent government job in Boston so that she could be with the folks she was helping.

South Park Inn's goal is to find housing for its residents and their placement rate is the highest in the city of Hartford. They have 85 beds for men and women, 15 beds for veterans, and 15 beds for respite care. They also work with landlords to try to prevent folks from becoming homeless due to changes in their financial status.

It's easy to forget our life of privilege and remember that the homeless didn't start out their life with that end in mind. Many thanks Jane and Jade for your presentation.
